It's about time

It's about time

Lately there has been no shortage of inspiration when it comes to jewelry and accessories.  I was given my great grandmother's vintage watch (pictured above) and decided months later to update it and add to my ever growing collection.  My fabulous jeweler helped me create a more modern band and I'm thrilled with the outcome.  It's easy to stack with other bracelets or dainty and feminine alone.  Today there are so many options when buying your next time piece.  You can go super cheap or ridiculously expensive, trendy or classic, neutral or neon.  These fabulous statement piece is actually useful so it's the most justifiable accessory to have multiples of!!!  Gotta love that!

All things patriotic

All things patriotic!

I love any excuse to get dressed up!  With this holiday you can take a very literal approach and rock a flag shirt or scarf, or you can simply go for blue and white stripes.  Colored denim is still in the forefront of fashion so don't be afraid to pick up those red jeans you have been eyeballing!  Whatever you do, have fun and represent your country well.  Happy birthday America!

Arm Candy

layering bracelets

Just wanted to share some of my many new pieces of arm candy!  Right now more is more when it comes to bracelets.  I love taking a special piece like my jade bangle and layering it with some less expensive, bulkier ones.  These fabulous printed pants are actually a one shoulder jumpsuit I scored from my best girl's boutique in Bainbridge, GA, Sweet Tea Day Spa :)  Click on the icons below to  shop and get a similar look.

Classic casual stripes

I love to be comfortable and still feel super stylish!!  This daytime ensemble shows you how very basic pieces can come together for a fresh, easy look.  These higher rise skinny khakis from H&M have become a staple this spring, and I really love this cotton striped top from Levi's.  I Finished off the outfit with Report loafers and a vintage tassel necklace.  Click the red text to pick you up a pair of these pants in different colors for under $25!!  Happy Monday y'all!!!!

Flashback fashion: Jellies!!!

I found these adorable Steve Madden jellies at the Norstrom Rack and could hardly contain myself.  I immediately flashed back to the fifth grade and the nostalgia was so lovely.  It's nice to know we can all still be a kid at heart.  Happy Wednesday :)

A night to honor Marilyn Monroe

Last Wednesday night my friend Trisha and I had the honor of being invited to the opening of the Marilyn Monroe Exhibit at the Hollywood Museum.  It was a truly special occasion with all of the class and elegance Marilyn exuded.  This year marks fifty years of her passing and it almost felt like she was right there as we snapped pictures in the mirror of dressing room she frequented.  We learned about everything from her famous makeup artist, Max Factor, to the numerous places she lived in the LA area.  It was such an intimate showing of her photos, belongings, and history in the industry.  I very much hope you enjoy my images of this special occasion.  Many thanks to my friend Paige Guritzky for the invite!!!!

Paige, Trisha, and Me snapping a quick shot in the mirror in one of the famous Hollywood Theater dressing rooms.  I love all of the old cosmetics strewn about.  It felt like Marilyn or Lucille Ball had just touched up her lipstick.

The icon's fabulous leather gloves and brooch.

Marilyn was known for her curves.  She was the envy of all movie stars with a 22" waist.

Her pink feather boa.  Just one of her many accessories.

Green beaded Pucci belt, studded leather belt, and interesting facts about her weight and measurements through the years.

Sparkling wine with custom Swarovski crystal labels to celebrate her life.

Mink stole seen in the picture on the left and an oversized cardigan.  I love how fashion comes full circle.  This men's style sweater is on trend today.

A few snapshots for wardrobe references.  I think they are superb :)

Her Playboy calendar.  The epitome of sex appeal.

So many excellent candid shots.  I would die for this blouse!

The last shots ever taken of her.  Again I love the chunky sweater and how comfortable she seems to just be herself.
